Starfield, Killer Instinct Has Been In Development For PS5 For A Few Years Now
The report claims that Killer Instinct and Starfield have been in development for the PS5 since late 2023. Not only that, but more Xbox exclusive games are on the way, including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.
In addition to that, the site claims that PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 ports of the new Fable from Playground Games are also in the works, and there’s a chance these games could be released on PS5, Switch 2 the same day as it releases on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Same as with any rumor, treat this one with a grain of salt for now given Microsoft has not announced anything official just yet. That said, given Xbox division boss Phil Spencer has already confirmed we’ll be seeing more first-party Xbox games appear on other platforms, this is more of a case of “when” rather than “if.”

Phil Spencer: Xbox Game Releases And Success “Less Excel” Based
Xbox boss Phil Spencer explains how games these days are “less Excel” based when it comes to achieving success.
Just last week, during the Xbox Developer Direct show, KOEI Tecmo announced Ninja Gaiden 4 is set to be released this Fall 2025. The trailer released then also confirmed Xbox is publishing the game, and it was also confirmed at the show the game is also due on the PS5.
Given DOOM: The Dark Ages, which launches this May 15 is also confirmed for the PS5, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also officially confirmed for the PS5 this Spring, I’d assume any and all major franchises from Microsoft are fair game to be ported on other platforms.
While Killer Instinct might be a small game and was released a few years ago, it’s Starfield that’s the big news here. Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG has been reviewed quite well, and even boosted the Xbox Series’ profile due to its reach. I guess Microsoft is after the revenue, and who can blame them, right? That’s a lot of PS5 owners out there ripe to sell Xbox exclusives to.
Once Microsoft announces these titles officially for other platforms, we’ll let our readers know.
