The data was compiled by Stream Charts, which also mentioned other impressive stats. The 40-minute event logged 1.96 million hours watched, with an average of 1.8 million people watching, another new record set by the show.

The exact numbers from the show are as follows:

  • 1,955,586 Hours watched

  • 1,123 channels streamed

Co-streamers from around the world also streamed the show, and for the first time, over 1,000 channels covered a State of Play. Most of the watch time was via YouTube Live, though some did come from Twitch.

The official PlayStation YouTube channel was the most popular broadcaster of the event (understandably so). Sony had three livestreams for the most recent State of Play (English, Japanese, one with English subtitles).

Post-Apocalyptic Arthurian Action Game Tides Of Annihilation Revealed At State Of Play

Tides of Annihilation was one of the big new games revealed during Sony’s February 2025 State of Play.

The biggest reveal at the show was Housemarque’s latest in-development project titled “Saros.” No gameplay of it was featured, though there was a cinematic announce trailer for it that confirmed actor Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass) will be the game’s protagonist.

The turnout for the latest State of Play just shows how thirsty people are for new games on the PS5. However, the show also brought in a good number of questions on other first-party project that we were hoping would be part of the show like Marve’s Wolverine, Ghost of Yotei and more.
