Article 1: Setting up Android Studio -the foundation for Android pentesting | by Deepak Parkash | Mar, 2025

Selecting the right Android emulator depends on your system’s hardware.

If your system meets these requirements, go for Android Studio’s built-in emulator:

16GB+ RAM
Intel i7 12th Gen (or AMD equivalent)
Dedicated GPU (e.g., NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti, 4GB VRAM or higher)

Android Studio provides the most authentic Android environment but demands high system resources.

If your system lacks a powerful GPU or struggles with performance, Genymotion is the better choice. It’s lightweight, fast, and doesn’t require a high-end graphics card.

💡 Tip: If you don’t have a powerful PC, skip Android Studio and use Genymotion instead!
